As you traverse this web site it should be noticeable that very little world news is commented on. This is simply because it means taking our eye of the ball. In this case our focus is on the bible and the bible only. If we look outside or beyond God’s word our hard earned solid ground can give way to something like quicksand very quickly.
History is full of predictions that never materialised. Everyone that has ever predicted the return of Christ has been wrong, with no exceptions.
What can seem a sure thing ‘at the time’ in pronouncing a prophetic fulfilment, in hindsight becomes amateurish guesswork.
The tendency is to ‘see’ what you want to see in a world circumstance and make it fit into ones own version of the day of the Lord.
Having said that there is a clear instruction to watch world events. There are some very broad items that should be understood as having a definite place in showing our position on the prophetic scale.
An example would be that the Jewish people would return to Jerusalem prior to the return of Christ.
Another would be the introduction of modern information gathering. In order for the whole world to see the bodies of the two witnesses at the same time an equivalent of the iPhone needs to be in existence. The use of technology is interesting because beyond that there is no mention whatsoever of space travel, genetic engineering, people living to be a thousand years old via stem cell research.
There is a ‘sell by date’ beyond which the world does not go. At least, not according to what we read in the bible.
This page will look at trends and events that can be correlated and cross-referenced with enough scripture to remain on solid ground.
