Israel

39 scriptures on the subject of Israel in the End Time explained below.

Israel together with Babylon and the sixth seal are the real keys to understanding everything to do with the return of Christ.
Israel is continually mentioned through the whole bible. When Christ returns with the twelve disciples (and many others) the twelve will each rule over one of the twelve tribes of Israel. (Matt 19:28, Luke 2:30, Acts 26:7). That opens up a lot of questions.

Israel is a big subject. The articles are in the left column.

In the main column are scriptures on the subject from throughout the bible as used in the Toolkit. Where necessary the use of Old Testament scriptures will have an explanation how and why they are applicable to the return of Christ.

This subject from the Toolkit is divided into three sections. You can click to jump straight there.

1)  The Nations of Israel into captivity        Q no 18 – 14
2)  The Nations of Israel Out of Captivity   Q no 37 –78
3)  The New Covenant and Israel                Q no 118 – 5

Jer 30:7  Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Q 18. When is the beginning of Jacob’s trouble?

The short answer is almost at the very beginning of the end time. This however is a very big subject and to have a full understanding several articles will need to be studied.
OT application to the end time: In verse 9 this time referred to will include David being resurrected and ruling as a king again (alongside all the other bible heroes, heroines and Saints). Must be future.
See: Who Is Israel
Who is Babylon
When Does Babylon Fall

Jer 50:33  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.
Q 29. When were the children of Israel and the children of Judah taken captive together and held fast?

Jer 50 and 51 is the longest single prophecy in the Bible. That makes it very important from God’s perspective. There is a particular message here that is relevant to the end time. In Jer 50:1 and v4
Some very unusual statements are made.

The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.  2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up  a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.
In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. 5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.
 Jer 50 v1-4
OT application to the end time: the above verse has far too many complications for it to be an historic event

1) It is referring to the fall of Babylon.
2) At the ‘same time’ Israel shall come seeking the Lord for a perpetual covenant that will never be broken.
3) At the ‘same time’ Judah shall come seeking the Lord for a perpetual covenant that will never be broken.

We have we split Judah and Israel into separate items because these two nations were separated back in the days of Solomon’s son. Israel was taken captive by the Assyrians, removed from their land and never heard of again: the so-called lost ten tribes. Later Judah was also taken captive by Babylon. After a time in captivity the Jews (Judah) came back to Jerusalem.
Neither Israel nor Judah have ever made a perpetual covenant with Christ and most certainly not in ‘those days or that time’ the same time that was the fall of Babylon.
All this adds up to unfulfilled events. All the references to the fall of Babylon match perfectly the accounts of Revelation 18 in some cases almost word for word. It is the same account, yet future.

To answer the question 'when are the children of Israel and the children of Judah both in captivity'? The short answer is at the very beginning of the end time.

The full answer is found in the articles:  Who Is Israel
Who Is Babylon

Isa 48:10  Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it : for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
Q 9. When does the refining process of Jacob commence?

See above. Jacob is Israel as in the twelve descendant tribes of Israel in the end time.
OT application to the end time: The preceding chapters are all within the context of this subject. The time frame in 45:17 and 45:22, 25 is a time when the whole world shall follow Christ. ‘Every knee shall bow,’ all Israel shall be saved with an everlasting salvation. This is still future.
Who Is Israel
Who Is Babylon

Ezek 39:23  And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
Q 41.  When does Israel ‘fall by the sword’ and go into captivity?

See above. Israel as in the twelve descendant tribes of Israel is (Jacob) in the end time.

OT application to end time: It is very important to not gloss over these verses thinking they are ancient history. The context in all the surrounding chapters is still for the future. For example in chapter 37:24
And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. 25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. 26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. Ezek 37:24
In these verses we see David resurrected, all Israel in the ‘promised land’ and Christ making His sanctuary with them. The new covenant (Heb 8) has been ratified. All of this is future.

Who Is Israel
Who Is Babylon

Jer 33:24  Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Q 22.  When will the people say the two families, (Judah and Israel) have been cut off and are no more a nation?

The definition of who Judah and Israel are is the first consideration. For a start, God refers to them as the two families He has chosen. For the full background that explains that statement see:  Who is Israel.  Next the question could be rephrased, ‘when are the nations of Israel totally defeated and at the mercy of any one that passes by’?  It would appear that they are ‘done for’ and it is all over, they have no future. God is saying ‘not according to My plan’.
The answer to 'when' is almost at the very beginning of the end time. ‘When they say peace and safety, sudden destruction comes on them’. The question is who are the ‘them’. The covenant in Heb 8 and many other places is yet to be established.
See:  Who is Israel    The Fall of Babylon.
The OT application to the future: Earlier in the chapter, verses 7 to 16 are all jointly talking of Israel and Judah being fully restored and having all their sins forgiven. (I.E. this is the future covenant mentioned in many places including Heb 8. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put  my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:  11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In v 9 Israel shall be a joy and a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth.

None of these things have happened yet and will not until Christ returns.

Amos 9:9   For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
Q 74.  When will Israel be sifted among the nations?

The nations of Israel will be defeated and taken into captivity in the very early stages of the end time. As mentioned in the answer for Q 22 it will be presumed their fall is so thorough that they will never recover. However God will restore them in such spectacular fashion that it will be spoken about virtually forever more.
The OT application can be seen in the last verses of the chapter. V 14-15 speaks of a time when Israel will never again be removed from their land. That at least brings us to this day and age.

Amos 6:7  Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed. The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
Q 71.  When will the excellency of Jacob and ‘the city’ be delivered up?

In this passage of Amos, all Israel (Jacob, all twelve tribes) is described as ‘the city’. It will be ‘delivered up’ that is totally defeated near the beginning of the end time. Jacob at that time is described as being ‘excellent’; rich and powerful and without a care. In the end time they will be ‘the first that go captive’.
OT application to the end time: The context of the whole is found in the previous chapter a few verse before. The subject in 5:18 is the day of the Lord. Also v20.

Hos 5:5  And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them. They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
Q 55. When will Israel, Ephraim and Judah fall within a month of each other?

One of the critical verses to understand. Paraphrased it would go like this: ‘Israel and Ephraim and Judah have become too sure of themselves and their own ability. They have turned away from Me, the end result being a nation that has totally forgotten Me. Therefore within one month all three nations shall fall’. The reality is the biggest of the three will fall first pulling the second (Ephraim) down with it leaving the third nation Judah completely defenceless and open to being overrun by its Arab neighbours, which promptly happens.
OT application to end time: These three nations never ‘fell together in one month’. Israel and Judah fell 120 years apart. This has another application at another time and circumstance.

Amos 3:1  O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Q 67.  When will the children of Israel (the people God has known) be punished?

The nations of Israel (the whole family, all twelve tribes) have been especially blessed over time. They should be grateful to God and give Him due honour. For the wilful rejection of their God, He is left with no alternative but to take the necessary action to get them back. This all happens at the beginning of the end time.
OT application to the end time: The context of the conversation carries all the way to 5:18; the day of the Lord.

Ezek 6:11  Thus saith the Lord GOD; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword. He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
Q 35. When will the fury of the Lord be accomplished on the house of Israel?

The very early part of the end time.
Israel in the context of the book of Ezekiel is always specifically Israel OR Judah; one or the other. In this case Israel is being singled out as the nation that will be taken back into captivity in the end time. Judah will be also but that is discussed separately in another passage. Towards the end of the book to really appreciate that two nations are being discussed God proclaims in no uncertain language that He will take the two nations and make them one nation again. Just to be sure we are talking about the future when they become one nation again and not past events, David (after the resurrection) shall be king over them.
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: 23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. 24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.  Ezek 37:22
The commentators have a lot of difficulty with this but it is really not that difficult.
The twelve disciples will be kings ruling over the twelve tribes (nations) of Israel when Christ returns. Matt 19:28,Luke 22:30, Acts 26:7.
David will be ruling over them with Christ in turn as the Supreme King and High Priest.
The OT application to the end time: of Ezekiel is a little more difficult to pin down specifically from the early chapters but as it progresses the one continual thread of dialogue starts to pull in themes and situations that can only be fulfilled when Christ returns. Overall, Israel and Judah are being spoken about as being in the same time frame whereas in reality in the past they went into captivity over a hundred years apart, and Israel was never heard of again afterwards.
Day of the Lord mentioned: 13:5, 30:3, (7:17 day of wrath of Lord).
Ezek 20:33 is the time when Israel will be gathered back and the ‘perpetual covenant that shall never be broken’ enacted. Jer 50:4 Heb 8 etc. this is also what is referred to in Jer 23:7 when a spectacular re-gathering of Israel will take place (all twelve tribes).
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. 35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. 36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. 37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:   Ezek 20:33
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 8 But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
   Jer 20:7

Hos 5:13  When Ephraim saw his sickness, Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound. For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; and none shall rescue him . I will return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
Q 57. When will Ephraim (and Judah?) seek help from ‘king Jareb’ to no avail?

King Jareb is not a known figure in history. The translation from Hebrew could denote ‘King Conqueror’. This mythical character would represent the beast. Ephraim is part of the ‘House of Joseph’ in the make up of Israel. Ephraim is the ‘company of nations’. Judah is modern geographic Israel. After the fall of Babylon the world’s economy enters deep distress. Nations will resort to warfare to try and resolve their needs. These are the first four seals of the ‘day of the Lord’. Before it goes that far Ephraim (the company of nations: Great Britain) turns to the beast (Europe) for help, which is refused probably in part due to the extreme circumstances making it impossible for them to help.
Besides, it is not God’s intention for Ephraim to take any shortcut. They will turn to God wholeheartedly in the end.
OT application to end time: In chapter 1 the context is the day Israel and Judah are gathered together, appointing themselves one head: for great shall be the day of Jezreel. This is repeated in Hosea  4:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days. This can only occur at the resurrection when David is there also hence the ‘ latter days’. This is the new covenant with Israel and Judah Heb 8 etc.

Zech 11:8   Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me. Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Q 82.  When will the ‘three shepherds’ be cut off in one month?

This highly poetic portion continues the same subject that most of the end time prophecies are about; the nations of Israel. In the previous chapter 10:5 the subject is Judah and the house of Joseph. Joseph is comprised of Ephraim and Manasseh. These three are the three shepherds that are ‘loathed’; the same language concerning the nations of Israel repeated in many places. These three being ‘cut off in one month’ is a repeat of Hosea 5:5 verse where the same ‘three’ fall within one month. These are the nations of Israel in the end time being defeated and going into captivity until they turn to God.
OT application to end time: The context continues and in the next two chapters there are lots of references to ‘in that day’ and the day of the Lord (14:1) and other situations that can only take place with the return of Christ.

Zeph 3:1  Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
Q 81.  When will ‘woe’ fall on the oppressing city (2:15) that trusted not in the Lord her God?

The oppressing city is ‘the’ city; Babylon. In several places (Jer 50:29, 50:14) it is described as being ‘proud against the Lord’ and ‘sinning against the Lord’ that requires it must be a ‘Christian’ nation. The same is said for Israel.
See: Who is Israel   Who is Babylon
OT application to end time: Zephaniah is one book that is very clear in defining the time frame. In 1:14 ‘the great day of the Lord is near’, v18 ‘the day of the Lord’s wrath’, 2:2 ‘the day of the Lord’s anger’.
In chapter three we jump straight to the future time when God is with a fully restored Israel, He Himself with them.
The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. 15 The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
 Zeph 3:13
At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.  Zeph 3:20   (Turning back your captivity means being brought back from captivity).

Joel 3:19  Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Q 66. When did the Middle East commit the violence against Judah?

When Babylon fell, the world’s richest and most powerful nation, the world’s ‘policeman’ was effectively removed. Without any protection Judah (modern nation of Israel) was left without support. The neighboring countries now had a clear opportunity to attack Israel. They did so with particular violence. For this God will in turn repay them in kind. This occurs at the beginning of the end time.
OT application to end time: Joel is easily recognizable as the end time from the numerous mentions of the day of the Lord being near, at least once in each chapter.

Amos 6:14  But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
Q 72.  When will the house of Israel be afflicted from one end of the land to the other?

Once Babylon falls, initially through an event that causes the complete and absolute financial collapse of the worlds most powerful nation, then it is completely vulnerable to being physically attacked by almost any other nation. This verse from Amos tells how the nation of Israel (in this case not Judah) will be ‘surrounded from one end to the other’. (The Hamath is the northernmost part of ancient Israel, the wilderness is the southernmost point). It all happens at the beginning of the end time. Babylon is Israel (but not Judah) in the end time, be sure to read the articles: Who Is Babylon.
OT application to end time: Previous chapter sets the context; Amos 5:18, the day of the Lord.

Amos 3:14  That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
Q 69. When will the ‘horns of the altar’ be cut off and the last chance of mercy be taken from Israel?

At the very beginning of the end time Israel is ‘brought down’ by God. As a result of Israel
(the nations of all twelve tribes) completely turning away from God they bring on themselves the unenviable position of cutting themselves off from God. Until they call on Him out of genuine repentance for mercy, they are on their own. The expression, the ‘horns of the altar shall be cut off’ refers to the last chance for clemency in the Temple days. And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar. 51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword. 52 And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die. 53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house.  1 kings 1:50
God is explaining to Israel ‘it is too late to say you are sorry. Now you must prove it’.
OT application to end time: This is the day of the Lord 5:18 and the time Israel must prepare to ‘face the day to meet thy God’ 4:12. In particular at the start of the chapter we are dealing with the ‘whole family I brought out of the land of Egypt’ i.e. all twelve tribes are referred to and that never happened in the past. The nation of Israel was dealt with 120 years before the nation of Judah.

Obadiah v 11   In the day thou stoodest on the other side, in the day the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. But thou shouldest not have have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction.
Q 76. When did the neighbouring states destroy Jerusalem?

This event recorded in Obadiah is the identical situation as in Q 66. The answer is repeated here.
OT application of Obadiah: v15 the day of the Lord is near…

Amos 4:11   I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
Q 70.  When does unrepentant Israel face God’s correction?

When Babylon falls, the result is the domino effect resulting in the complete downfall of many nations of Israel but still they are unrepentant towards God. Further action on His part will now take place to ensure thy ‘come back to Him’. This is at the beginning of the end time.
OT application: Next chapters continue context, Amos 5:18 day of the Lord.

The OT application of Ezekiel is a little more difficult to pin down specifically from the early chapters but as it progresses the one continual thread of dialogue starts to pull in themes and situations that can only be fulfilled when Christ returns.
(See Q.14)

   Jer 20:7

Joel 3:6  The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border. Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
Q 63.  When were the children of Judah taken captive and sold to the ‘Grecians’?

Judah fell to the neighboring Arab nations very early in the end time. The survivors (only a third of the nation of Jews, modern Israel) were ‘sold off’. We are told in other passages that a great many were sold to Edom. Later when the beast captures Jerusalem from the ‘king of the South’ in the ‘ midst of the week’ he is unable or unwilling to take over Edom (presumed to be modern Turkey). This just happens to be where the ‘Jews’ are in captivity, therefore they are safe from the beast. God has it all worked out.
OT application to the end time: same chapter in verse 14, it is the day of the Lord.

Jer 16:13  Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
Q 14. When are the children of Israel cast out?

This is referring to Israel being taken into captivity at the very early stages of the end time.
They are taken out of their homeland. Wherever they are taken which will be to many different parts of he world, they will be re-gathered again in the most spectacular fashion. There are several accounts such as Jer 16:14, but this one from Micah is brilliant.
Read these words carefully for the complete essence of What God does for Israel:
According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things. 16 The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. 17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.  18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.   Micah 7:15
OT application for the end time: You never saw or heard of anything like this!

Ezek 20:33  As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
Q 37.  When will the Lord gather all of Israel from the nations they were captive in and plead with them face to face?

Israel has always been a focal point of the bible. Here is a very simple analogy to put the issue of Israel in focus.
First, there are three factors involve. The first one is Christ. The second one is the Church. The third on is Israel. Christ and God the Father for their own reasons (love) want more ‘free agent’ beings to join them. Call this a desire to have a family if that makes sense. In order for these new members to be adequate for the purpose intended, they must be able to develop and exercise ‘righteous character, this could be defined as the ability to choose right from wrong. Mankind must go through a process of learning by its own mistakes. We are not capable of getting it right on our own. Eventually our shortcomings will cause the complete downfall of mankind, which is where Christ will step in to ‘redeem’ mankind. That is the purpose of the return of Christ and the end time.
At the return of Christ those that have qualified through history will be resurrected as ‘firstfruits’. They will be Kings and Priests serving with Christ. The twelve disciples for instance will be kings over the twelve tribes of Israel. Matt19:28, Luke 22:30, Acts 26:7.
Who will be the subjects under Christ and the Saints? That will be the world that Christ and the resurrected saints come back to. At that point a whole new ‘covenant’ will be made, this time never to be broken; (Heb 8 and many other scriptures). Israel will be the leading nation setting the example to the rest of the world. There are so many unfulfilled scriptures on this subject, it should be obvious that Israel has a function never remotely achieved before and has a wonderful future ahead.

If we take Christ as being the Shepherd, Israel as the vast flock, then the Church are Christ’s helpers with the flock; the faithful sheepdogs. The Church works hard leading and guiding the flock at their Masters will and on His behalf; a shepherd is dependant on his faithful sheepdog for help; he cannot work a flock on his own. This close relationship with the Master Shepherd will be forever.
The covenant with Israel, the ‘pleading face to face’ will be at His return with the Saints. By this time all of the nations of Israel ‘will come seeking the Lord to make a perpetual covenant that shall never be broken’.  Jer 50:4,5  The world now enters the millennium.
OT application to end time: a few verses later;
For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.  41 I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.  42 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.  Ezek 20:40
Never has all (repeated for emphasis) Israel served the Lord, (but they will).
See:  Who Is Israel

Jer 23:7  Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
Q 16. When do the children of Israel come back from captivity?

This has the same answer as in Q 15 so is repeated: This will be a spectacular event, even by God’s standards:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  Ezek 20:33
It occurs right at the end of the end time seven years when Christ and the Saints return.
The new covenant is entered into by Israel Heb 8 and Jer 50:4
OT application to end time: In verse 4 it speaks of a time where Israel shall never have fear or dismay again and a king from the line of David will be raised up and rule over them (Israel and Judah) and they shall dwell safely forever more. Strictly a future event.

Ezek 37:22  And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, .. and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
Q 40. When will the two nations of Israel be united and become a people of God once more?

At the very end of the seven years of the end time. This is one of the places where Christ ‘speaks plainly’ about more than one nation of Israel. It is vital to recognize that Israel and Judah are different nations biblically and in ‘real time’. Here, God’s word states these two nations shall be brought back together again. Whatever we think about ‘nations of Israel’ who or what are they, ‘how come we can’t see these nations’ God replies ‘I am not going to bring them back together for their sake but because My Holy Name is at stake here. If I say it, it will happen’. Ezek 36:22. Christ said ‘the scripture cannot be broken’ in John10:35. If that is what it says, that’s what it means.
OT application to the end time: Verse 24, David shall be king over them. Still future.

Deut 30:3  That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
Q 1. When will these nations be gathered from their captivity?

The nations of Israel will be gathered together just before Armageddon as will most other nations also. God will read the ‘riot act’ and see who will comply with the new rules and who won’t. Israel is more than eager to please God at this stage and the new covenant is forged. ‘A perpetual one that shall never be broken’. Jer 50:4
OT application to the end time: In these verses the (distant) future is already being discussed Israel will go into captivity and shall be gathered by Christ and then obey God and do all His commandments. Then everything will work out for the good and the Lord shall circumcise their hearts and rejoice over them. This is still future. (For a start Israel has never been brought back, only Judah the once and then that was very short lived as far as obeying God).

Jer 3:18  In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
Q 11. When will the nations of Israel come together and receive the inheritance?

This is the age-old promise by God for (all) Israel to inherit the promised land; from the Tigris to the Nile. It has never happened so is yet future. It was still future in Jeremiah’s time as can be seen by this verse.
OT application to the end time: In the previous verse, 16 speaks about Jerusalem being the throne of the Lord and all nations shall be gathered to it. Not until Christ returns.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.   Jer 3:17

Amos  9:14  And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them ; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
Q 75.  When will God’s people be brought back from captivity?

This is the promise to Israel that they will inherit the Promised Land. The nations of Israel are gathered and brought to Jerusalem where the new covenant will be ratified. This will occur in the presence of other nations as well. All this is part of the proceedings at Armageddon. All nations have the option of following Christ. (Some refuse and that’s the end of them).
Ezek 20:33
OT application to the end time: Later in the same chapter God says from here on Israel will never be pulled out of their land again. Future situation.
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
   Amos 9:15

Micah 7:16  According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things . The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
Q 200.  When will the nations be astounded at the second exodus/gathering of Israel from around the world?

At Armageddon where the last chance for repentance and a future will be offered to all the nations, Israel will have been gathered by God. It will be spectacular:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  Ezek 20:33
Once they accept the conditions Christ offers, they are then a very special people and will act accordingly.
OT application to end time: Never have nations, plural, been terrified at the sight of (all) Israel being powerful and victorious as in the days they came out of Egypt with God backing them up. This is another event, still future.

Jer 16:14  Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
Q 15. When will the children of Israel be brought back out of captivity?

This will be a spectacular event, even by God’s standards:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  Ezek 20:33
It occurs right at the end of the end time seven years when Christ and the Saints return.
The new covenant is entered into by Israel Heb 8 and Jer 50:4
OT application to the end time: A few verses on in the same chapter and the whole world submits to Christ. Never happened yet, so is still future (referring to Armageddon).
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.   Jer 16:19

Ezek 28:25  Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.
Q 38. When will the house of Israel finally enter the Promised Land?

Israel enters the promised land when Christ returns with the saints at Jerusalem. From all over the world wherever the nations of Israel have been scattered for the last almost seven years. He gathers them (very dramatically) and the new covenant is agreed to by Israel and Judah. Heb 8, Jer 50:4 etc. See Q 37 for more information
OT application to end time: In the next verse we have a situation that has never unfolded.
And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.    Ezek 28:26
See:  Who Is Israel

Joel 3:1  For, behold, in those days, in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations.
Q 62.  When will the captivity of Judah and Israel be over and Christ gather the nations to ‘plead’ with them?

This is Armageddon, something hard for us to imagine. All the nations of the world gathered for one last ultimatum. Accept Christ or accept the consequences. The nations of Israel have been gathered back from captivity in the most spectacular fashion:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  Ezek 20:33
They have the conditions explained, Israel needs no help to make up their mind this time, they are only too willing to be God’s people for evermore. Jer 50:4
OT application to the end time: Never have all the nations been gathered near Jerusalem and had to explain to Christ’s face why they did what they did to Israel. A future event.

Jer 33:7  And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first. And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth.
Q 21.  When do Israel and Judah return from captivity and become a praise before all the nations of the earth?

They ‘return’ from captivity by God’s grace and outstretched arm:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  Ezek 20:33
Jer 50:4
OT application to end time:  Never have the nations of Judah and Israel been a praise and honor before all the nations of the earth. Verse 9.

Joel 3:16  The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Q 65. When will the Lord roar out of Zion?

This will be when Christ returns with the saints at the end of the seven years of the ‘day of the Lord’. Israel is about to be gathered from the nations where they have been captive for most of this time. Christ will do a lot more than just roar:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out Ezek 20:33
OT application to end time: This is when the Lord will dwell in Zion verse 21. Many other verse in this chapter could only apply to when Christ returns.

Micah 2:12  I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold …  and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
Q 78.  When will Jacob and the remnant of Israel be gathered with the Lord at the head of them?

This will be when Christ returns with the saints at the end of the seven years of the ‘day of the Lord’. Israel is about to be gathered from the nations where they have been captive for most of this time. Christ will do a lot more than just roar:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out Ezek 20:33
OT application to the end time: The next chapter in the same context (for all this book) is the time that the House of the Lord is established and people shall flow to it (in Jerusalem). Many nations then shall go there.
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.  Micah 4:1

Heb 8:8   Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
Q 118.  When will the new covenant be made with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah?

At Armageddon all the nations are gathered, Israel by spectacular actions on God’s part. The new covenant is mentioned in many places in the bible. Heb 8 being probably the most familiar one. One of the earliest mentions of this end time covenant would be in Deuteronomy.
That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. 4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:   Deut 30:3
Jer 50:4  In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. 5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

Jer 50:4  In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying , Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.
Q 23.  When shall the nations of Israel and Judah seek the Lord for a perpetual covenant?

OT application to end time: Jer 50 is full of verses that can only apply to a future date. This one should be read in conjunction with the verses before it. ‘In that day at that time’ when Babylon falls then Israel and Judah… all three at the same time are recorded as doing something. That is an impossible piece of scripture to match up to anything in the past. The nation of Israel had been defeated and taken away by the Assyria and over a hundred years before Judah was defeated. Israel had disappeared from the history books when Babylon and Judah were involved together. Babylon did not fall at the same time Judah was seeking the lord. It has to be future.

Jer 31:31  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God,
Q 19. When will the new covenant with Israel and with Judah be made?

This scripture is the same circumstance as Jer 50 and Heb 8. The answer to Q 23 is repeated.
At Armageddon all the nations are gathered, Israel by spectacular actions on God’s part. The new covenant is mentioned in many places in the bible. Heb 8 being probably the most familiar one. One of the earliest mentions of this end time covenant would be in Deuteronomy.

OT application to end time: It should be obvious that this has never happened in the past. It is still future.

Jer 32:40  And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
Q 20.  When is the everlasting covenant made with Israel?

The answer is the same as Q19 and Q 23, so is repeated here:

Israel had disappeared from the history books when Babylon and Judah were involved together. Babylon did not fall at the same time as Judah was seeking the lord. It has to be future.
OT application to end time: Once again, from this verse alone(Jer 32:40) it should be obvious that this has not occurred yet. Israel has a continual habit of departing from God, not the other way round. This is yet future.

Isa 10:20  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
Q 5. When will the remnant of Israel return (to the Promised Land)?

This will be a spectacular event, even by God’s standards:
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.  Ezek 20:33
It occurs right at the conclusion of the end time seven years when Christ and the Saints return.
The new covenant is entered into by Israel Heb 8 and Jer 50:4
OT application to the end time: Isa 10 mentions ‘the day of visitation’, v3. Verse 17 says that the light of Israel shall be for a ‘fire’ and his ‘Holy One for a flame that shall burn and devour in one day’, but Isa10:20 says that from that day forward the house of Jacob shall be faithful to God in truth. This is the new covenant.
